Technology of forging

We have roughly classified the method of producing the light alloy wheel into the gcastingh and the gforgingh.

gThe castingh is the method that pours molten metal into a mold, and make that cool down and take metal out from the mold.

gThe forgingh is the method that beating the heated metal to model the shape you want and cools that down. Japanese sword gKATANAh is one of the greatest examples of forged product.

So, why the forging is better than the casting?



For forging, there is the process of hammering to give metal a strong pressure. And this pressure solidifies the metal stronger and evenly crystallizes the metal molecule.

Because of those reasons, metal structure does not have irregular and this guarantees the strength of the forged product. (Refer to illustration)

Also, the method of the forging can be divided into the cold forging and hot forging. The cold forging is forming the metal under the temperature of re-crystallization of metal molecules; therefore, the accuracy of the measurement is better than hot forging.



The NEEZ wheels are perfectly cold-forged from raw material using the highly advanced 8,000-ton press machine.
